Global Warming: Just Another Natural Phenomenon

Although most people believe that global warming is caused by human activity, history shows us that this is just a cyclic natural phenomenon that has happened in the past.  This is evident when one considers the Medieval Global Temperature Optimum.  This was a time period from about AD 950-1250 during which the climate in the North Atlantic region was warmer.  Where were the greenhouse gases then?  Other climate anomalies throughout the world may have been related to this event.  Sound familiar?  This phenomenon was follow by another called the Little Ice Age. This was a period of cooling that took place from the 16th to the 19th centuries.  The cool weather had a major effect on health, agriculture, economics, emigration, and other important aspect of society.  It also resulted in storms and increased glaciations which had a major effect on the subgroups of the population living near glaciers and the sea.  These negative effects of the temperature change that occurred during the Little Ice Age caused massive declines in human population.   These phenomenons of nature represent the Earth’s way of regulating itself.  People want to believe that our bad habits as a society are causing so that they can create a so called solution to make us all feel safe.  The truth is we are not safe and there is nothing we can do about our impending doom.  This is all a part of Earth’s natural cycle.  If the Mayans were correct, this cycle will be complete once again next year unfortunately for us.  So sleep well my fellow gas guzzlers, it’s is not our fault!
